VJ Photos from Teralba Amateur Sailing Club at Lake Macquarie NSW:
Sat 1st April 2023:
As we sailed out to the starting line the wind was a pleasant light-moderate sou-easter. However as the 5 minute starting procedure for the VJs got underway, a moderate-fresh southerly came though. The wind continued to increase through the afternoon, resulting in several breakages and retirements in the Teralba fleet. GoPro image is from Big Apple IV on the way home soon after the southerly arrived.
Sat 18th March 2023:
In a perfect moderate ENE breeze, Go Hard 2 and Big Apple IV duelled it out all round the course with the lead changing several times. On the final spinnaker reach from the wing mark Go Hard 2 overtook Big Apple IV and won by 30 seconds. These GoPro photos capture the first reach action onboard Big Apple IV.

Sat 14th September 2019: Lindsay Allan and George Probert spent the day rigging and checking new sails hulls and equipment at Teralba in preparation for sailing commencing soon.
Lindsay’s new grey coloured hull is the first made of the David Cleworth designed Hull 6X and features a rig which is 850mm higher than the previous 2012-13 VJ rig, and carries a masthead spinnaker. The spinnaker and jib have been made by Rod Carter from Ullman Sails Newcastle, and Rod also modified and lengthened Lindsay’s 2014 mainsail by 850mm.
George Probert’s ‘new’ yellow hull is Lindsay’s former 2016 hull ‘Mandarin’ which is built to the wider Cleworth Hull 6C design, and he is using his mast and mainsail from ‘Go Hard Or Go Home’.
